Storing Hemianthus callitrichoides 'Cuba' (HC Cuba) tissue cultures

Hemianthus callitrichoides 'Cuba' (HC Cuba) tissue cultures can be stored in the fridge for several weeks to a few months, depending on the specific conditions and quality of the tissue culture. Here are some tips to maximise their longevity:

1. Temperature: Keep the tissue cultures at a consistent temperature, ideally around 4-8°C (39-46°F).
2. Light: Avoid exposing the tissue cultures to light while they are stored in the fridge.
3. Container: Ensure the container is sealed properly to prevent contamination.
4. Moisture: Check occasionally for signs of drying out or excess moisture. Either can lead to deterioration.

Regularly inspect the tissue cultures for any signs of mould, contamination, or decay. If the cultures appear healthy and free of contaminants, they can remain viable for up to 2-3 months. However, for optimal results, it is recommended to use them within 4-6 weeks.
