Plants that like to get LOW!

 

Here are some low-growing plants that should thrive in the front of your tank without the need for CO2:

 

1. Java Moss (Taxiphyllum barbieri): It's very versatile and can be attached to rocks or driftwood. It grows slowly and doesn't require CO2.

 

2. Anubias Nana Petite: This plant is small and has sturdy leaves. It doesn't require much light or CO2 and can be attached to rocks or driftwood.

 

3. Cryptocoryne Pink Flamingo: This is one of the small bright Cryptocoryne species. It grows slowly and can tolerate low light and no CO2.

 

4. Sagittaria Subulata (Dwarf Sagittaria): This plant can create a nice carpet in the front of the tank. It doesn't need CO2 and can thrive in low to moderate light.

 

5. Marsilea Hirsuta: This plant can grow as a low carpet in your tank. It does well in low light and doesn't require CO2 injection.

 

6. Staurogyne Repens: It’s a compact plant that stays low and forms dense bushes. It can grow well without CO2 in moderate light.

 

7. Lilaeopsis Brasiliensis: Often called Micro Sword, it creates a grass-like carpet. It can grow in low to moderate light without CO2.

 

8. Cryptocoryne Wendtii: This plant is adaptable to a range of conditions and comes in various color forms. It's low-growing and does well in low to moderate light.

 

9. Micranthemum 'Monte Carlo': This plant forms a dense carpet and can grow in lower light conditions without CO2.

 

10. Helanthium Tenellum (Dwarf Chain Sword): This plant spreads runners and can create a nice carpet in the foreground. It tolerates low light and no CO2.

 

11. Bacopa Monnieri (Moneywort): Although it can grow taller, it can also be trimmed to stay low. It's hardy and can thrive in low light without CO2.

 

12. Hygrophila Corymbosa 'Compact': This is a dwarf variety of the larger Hygrophila species. It stays small and bushy, perfect for the foreground.

16. Hydrocotyle Verticillata: This plant has an interesting clover-like appearance and can grow low in the foreground without CO2.

 

17. Microsorum Pteropus 'Windelov' (Windelov Java Fern): This is a smaller variety of Java Fern that can be attached to rocks or driftwood and stays compact.
